First of all, if you haven't read The Hunger Games, go read it now. Right now. Go.

So anyway, this is Katniss Everdeen, from the Hunger Games trilogy. I believe this is the first time I've ever done fan art of a character from a book (not including those that have been made into movies). I must say it's quite intriguing, creating fan art from what I think a character looks like based on words, instead of drawing a character based on pictures. I think I will do more if it. It's fun.

I love her pose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's great! If I were in the Hunger Games and I saw THAT, I'd be dead already : P
I like the traditional way you drew this, with pencils and things. I love seeing those strokes again where there's so much digital art!!! : ) I am pleased to pronounce you as one of the few artists on dA who might have looked at what a real archer looks like--it's a proportional bow, good form, and good hands. Congrats!!

This is absolutly beautiful, love the pose and her expression and everything but... but... really? Arrow on the wrong side of the bow, how come no one knows that you cannot rest the arrow on your thumb? It's supposed to be resting on the knuckles on the other side of the bow!
Also, you could have giver her a better anchor point (area to rest lightly as the string is pulled toward the face, usually the corner of the archer's mouth or chin).
I am an archer myself and it annoys me greatly that people always miss these things and I go around commenting on archery pictures to help them not do these mistakes xD

But apart from that, I love it ^_^

I'm not an archer, but I've wanted to learn archery for years. It also annoys me when people make mistakes in archery pictures, but since I don't know anything about anchor point or which side to put the arrow on, I usually just comment on the bow draw.
For example, in this picture, Katniss only has 2 fingers on the string, and I believe the Mediterranean draw is done with 3 fingers.
